Hi! First of all my name is Rebecca, some of you may know me as Becky or by my instagram account name: strongisthenewskinny94.
I am a 19 year old girl living in NSW Australia, and I have a MAJOR passion for health and fitness.
I am going to give you a bit of an insight into me as a person, and how and why I began my clean eating journey.
I have never been ‘’overweight’’ - it takes a lot for my body to actually become overweight, however about a year ago I was the heaviest I have ever been, which was 68 kilos, and I was VERY unhealthy!
I was a chocoholic.... basically I couldn’t go a day without chocolate, and I don’t mean one square, I mean that I would eat ENTIRE blocks of chocolate if I felt like it (as teenage girls do). On top of that I was a huge pasta lover! Creamy bacon carbonara (with extra cheese) was my all-time favourite meal and I pretty much ate a chicken parmigarna with chips every single time I went out for dinner.
I never had a second thought about what I was putting into my body- my diet was based around chocolate, fried food, pasta, McDonalds and sour lollies - that’s pretty much it! I would very rarely eat any fruits or vegetables and I probably did physical activity around once a month, if that.
It’s no secret that I was unhealthy, slow, and unhappy with myself.
There was one day in particular I can remember that kind of changed my perspective on things and turned my life around. I had just gone out for Chinese and I came back full to the brim so I went to my room to lay down (standard food coma, ha-ha). I was standing in my room, in my underwear, and I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and was in total shock! It was like I didn’t even know the person looking back at me. I turned away and just started to cry because I HATED what I saw, and I knew that it was my fault for getting to that point.
That’s when I changed my diet around, cut out most of the junk food, chocolate and lollies, stopped eating pasta and white bread, and in a matter of a couple of months I had dropped down to 63 kilos. Rebecca (Beck's) Lomas.
Once I had finished school I decided to join the gym and this is where I got serious about my fitness goals! I was going to the gym 4-6 times a week and maintaining a completely clean lifestyle, and roughly 8 months later I had reached my goal weight of 56 kilos! From then on I stopped weighing myself because I was happy with what I looked like.
At this point in time I am the fittest I have ever been in my life. I can quite happily run 15km (in fact I find it very therapeutic and when I have had a stressful day I NEED to go for a big run to clear my head). I don’t think twice about eating clean because it just comes naturally to me now.
I have done so much research in the past year and a half on health and fitness that my brain is pretty much jam packed full of it! And so, I feel that I am quite informed on the subject.
I am by far the happiest I have ever been in my entire life and I owe it all to a clean healthy lifestyle.
It’s my dream to help people achieve a body they are happy with and proud of, so enjoy my recipes, workout tips and blog posts and I hope I can help you out on your own fitness journey!
Much love, xxxx
